L.A., Smell-A.

This is the view from my balcony in the City of Angels
Jealous of our gas prices?
I am a pedestrian (and yes, a renter, Commandant Bunderkraut) so, in the words of Nelson Mundt, ha ha.

Hi Doc Bok,
That’s about what gas is selling for on the Monterey Peninsula, though I predict it’s going to get higher because the Tourist Season is just beginning. Restaurants, hotels/motels and gift stores also raise their prices when the unwashed masses descend upon us for the summer.

you live in Monterey? Nice work.

Pebble Beach, to be precise. It's a beautiful location but there’s a glut of conspicuous consumption types whose s**t doesn’t stink, according to them. And no, I don’t do golf…

DBok, I see what they mean about California's breathtaking scenery.

ML, I thought Pebble Beach was/is a golf course. Are you a squatter?

Hi One Ear,
Pebble Beach has a myriad of golf courses (eleven at last count) with a population of approximately 4,500 people. The golf courses are gorgeous and I wouldn’t mind living on one, except for the “FORE” that’s endemic with golfers. It’s got lovely beaches which aren’t too crowded when the tourist season is over. The famous 17-Mile Drive is interesting, if you’re of a mind to spend $10 to look at golf courses, the Pacific Ocean and multi-million dollar mansions.
